The UYC Maritime Foundation organizes and sponsors two major sailing regattas on Lake Lanier each year. The highly competitive Lanier Cup in the Fall and the super fun Hot “Ruddered” Bum in the Winter.

Lanier Cup
The Lanier Cup format pits four boats from each of the top sailing clubs on Lake Lanier against each other to crown the King of the Lake. The combined scores from each team determine the outcome and the top teams are awarded a Silver Plate to display in the Club and racers are “crowned” with the coveted Red Cap. Hot “Ruddered” Bum
The Hot “Ruddered” Bum is held in the often-chilly Winter months each year and is a four-fleet, handicap format event with racers from all of the clubs on the lake often represented in this popular regatta. Participants enjoy Hot Buttered Rum at the post-race party and the winners take home bottles of Mount Gay Rum to keep them warm throughout the winter! See the latest Results Here!
